Supreme Court temporarily restores mail and pharmacy access to abortion pill

The Supreme Court, in an order signed by Justice Samuel Alito, temporarily restored broad access to the abortion pill mifepristone, allowing it to be obtained at pharmacies or by mail without an in-person doctor visit. This blocked a federal appeals court ruling from last week that had imposed new restrictions. The order stays in effect for one week while both sides respond and the court considers the issue further.
